Diet? No Diet! Diets DIE…Prepare your kitchen to be able to whip up quick, nutritious meals as you work towards your lifestyle changes!
Instead of Flavoured Oatmeal – Switch to Quick Oats. They are less money, less sugar, and can be used not only at breakfast but in healthy muffins, bread and dessert recipes. Substitute 1/3 or the oats for a third of the flour.
Instead of Solid White Tuna – Choose Light Chunk Tuna. Both are a great choice for protein but the Chunk light is about half the price and has a third less of mercury than Albacore tuna. Omega 3 helps with inflammation and cellular health.
Instead of Light Peanut Butter- Choose Natural, Organic Peanut Butter. Light peanut butter does not always mean healthier it can have corn syrup and other additives. Natural organic peanut butter offers a great amount of protein and fiber. Just watch the serving size on the label! Look for other alternatives such as sunflower or almond butter.
Instead of White Rice - Choose Brown rice. White rice is like pouring sugar down your throat and will spike your blood sugar levels while brown rice will leave you feeling full and balanced.
Instead of Microwave Popcorn – Choose Air Popped Popcorn. Not only is microwave popcorn full of fat and additives, it is expensive. Enjoy an old fashion kettle of natural popcorn for its fiber benefits! Fiber keeps your blood sugar levels steady.
Instead of Sugar – Choose Natural Stevia or Organic Honey. Receive the benefits of a natural source to sweeten your coffee, tea and recipes. Stevia and honey are free of chemicals and additives compared to sugar and sugar substitutes.
Instead of Soda – Choose Green Tea. It will boost your metabolism by 30% and is a much healthier for you.

As our readers know, I don't believe in resolutions but rather solutions.
According to Webster's dictionary:
A resolution is: a formal expression (declaring your intention).
A solution is: an explanation of an answer.
Do you want to make a personal change this year?
Don't panic from seeing any media or try out gizmos, gadgets, and magic pills!
Instead, take a deep breath and take these steps:
Sometimes many of us say we want weight loss when in reality, it is a specific lifestyle change we are seeking and weight loss will be a by-product of that change. Remember, my mantra is: Body acceptance brings body confidence which makes a body beautiful!
It begins in the mind. In the big picture, size really doesn't matter, for it is the health of your body that is important. We can improve our bodies, but we can't fight Mother Nature (genetics)! We cannot change our height, bone size, the width of our hip bones, the size of our feet, nor the shape of our hands. We need to learn to love our bodies as is. Yes, we can alter certain body parts but it is expensive and potentially dangerous. When we accept the fact that our bodies have limitations and learn to embrace this fact, only then will we have peace within.
Now what about your body is holding you back in life? If we cannot be honest and open about our body concerns, you will never be able to change! NO EXCUSES!
So, with a mirror in hand, go ahead a have a look. Don't be shy! This body is your very best friend. It has been through every life experience with you and makes you unique! Each curve, beauty mark and feature makes you like no other!

"What will it take to make this change in my life?
Is it better eating habits?
Do I need to move my body more?"
