"Leading cause for death for Women"
The Heart Truth is heart disease and stroke is a leading cause of death for women in Canada, but most don't know it. Heart disease is not a "man's disease": women are more likely than men to die of a heart attack or stroke. The good news is that if women put their own health first by making lifestyle changes, they can reduce their risk of heart disease and stroke by as much as 80 percent.
February is heart health month to empower us nationally to End Stroke through education and awareness campaign that encourages us all to make smarter healthier choices, managing your fitness, and educating each other on the warning signs. It unites people to help make an impact on the high incidence of stroke within their communities.
The Heart and Stroke Foundation's The Heart Truth campaign calls on women to put their own health first by assessing their risk for heart disease and stroke, talking to their doctor, and making heart healthy lifestyle choices in order to enjoy a long and healthy life with their loved ones.
