While, the love and passion has never left, it has been ignited again after FNO (Fashion Night Out), Sept 10th in NYC.
Created last year by Anna Wintour, the editor of Vogue magazine, this evening was designed to celebrate the city and the many talents it holds. 1000 stores across NYC partied from 6pm til midnight. (NYC fun fact: Fashion is the second industry next to finance).
In addition, swag bags and specials were given out at each store. So many specials, the NY Post newspaper ran a 46 page supplement on the details.
Karl Lagerfeld, whom I had the privilege of meeting, was in Soho at the opening of the newly remodeled Chanel boutique. They featured their new nail lacquer trio in Les Khakis, by Peter Phillips, available just for the night. Think Camo-colors. ( am wearing the camo green by Essie and I LOVE IT – perfect for a personal trainer LOL -bootcamp toes)
Tom Ford, Mary K Blige, Victoria Beckham.SJP were all at Bergdorf’s, as well as a slew of other designers…seriously, it does not get better than this!
Double-Decker buses, sponsored by payless shoes (yes, check out the designers who created the collection for them this season) offered free rides to the key shopping hubs.
The streets were overflowing with women of all walks, sizes and backgrounds, coming together for the love of fashion – it was simply brilliant. Red carpets, one after another lined the store fronts, while the DJ fought for your attention, for each store was blasting their tunes. FNO volunteers, in their designer FNO T-shirts, stood on the corners, serving as your friendly guides.
There is NO PLACE like NY… I just want to click my heels 3 mores times…
If you are looking for the PERFECT girls w/end, book NOW for next year’s FNO, you will not be disappointed!
In good health,
