Brandy is the founder of the GillmoreFREEDOM method (an energy releasing technique) and CEO of Gillmore Holistics.
I was enlightened by the fact that our bodies use cholesterol to create hormones. Cholesterol is a fat or lipid. It is also known as a “sterol” in which steroid hormones are made.
Like carbohydrates, cholesterol gets a “bad rap” but the reality is, we need good healthy cholesterol to create hormone production in the body. Gilmore shared that 85% of our cholesterol is created by our bodies and the rest comes from our food choices.
Our food choices and stress levels create havoc on our bodies, which will either offset our hormone production by over producing or under producing, causing health issues to occur.
“Why are we so stressed out,” states Gillmore, “We live in a 'we don’t have enough society'.”
Gilmore shared that less than 10% of Asian women go through menopause hormonal changes due to the fact they adhere to a healthy food regimen and a sound understanding of the mind/body connection in managing stress.
“Our culture is the problem and the solution,” states Gillmore. “The age 60 in the past 'looked' pretty darn slow, and now looks like a hop skip and a jump.”
So what is an easy step one to step into? Gillmore's signature philosophy of “Owning your Sexiness and Live Life Passionately?”
Eat within one hour of waking. Skipping breakfast is hard on the adrenals.
Gillmore offers several breakfast suggestions for a healthy start.
-Choose a protein powder (Vega One or Garden of life), Almond Milk with berries for a healthy smoothie.
-Eggs or Egg white with veggies
-Quinoa with veggies
I learned it is important we don’t self diagnose our side effects due to media hype. We hear the famed “adrenal burn out and run to the supplement store. Brandy shared our body is like a “Breaker box on a house” and that we must review all factors before skipping to step 2, when 1 has not been addressed.
A key factor to Gillmore Holistics is the mind/body connection and Brandy’s own struggle having been disabled in a wheelchair, which she was told would be “permanent.” Having been bedridden myself, I was drawn to her amazing story of becoming fully active again and now known as an international famed Certified Holistic Nutritional Therapist. She went from working out alone in a gym with her walker to becoming best friends and training with all of the bodybuilders, signifying the power of the mind/body connection. "Get up the next day and do it anyway!"
